The MBA celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2008. It is therefore one of
the oldest Area Societies, and we believe one of the most progressive. Our
membership is very active within the fancy and are always willing to help others where
possible. Our Committee works extremely hard on behalf of our members and tries to
greet everyone with the hand of friendship.
There can
be no greater accolade than being elected President of the parent body the Budgerigar
Society and many of our members have been recognised in this way.
The MBA has been at the forefront
of many new ideas over the years. Our members have also achieved great success on
the show bench. One of our most recent successes was once again winning the
prestigious Premier Area Society Trophy at the 2008 Budgerigar Society Club Show, with a
very strong team. This is the second year running that we have won this award. Our winning
points total of 569 points was 317 points ahead of our nearest rivals, a fantastic
achievement. Can we make it three in a row in 2009?
We value
both our members and our history and traditions and I am very proud to be the Chairman of
the MBA and feel extremely honoured to have been the Associations President in 2001.
