75th ANNIVERSARY YEAR
2008 sees the
MBA celebrating its 75th Anniversary. It is therefore one of the oldest area
societies, and we believe one of the most progressive. Our membership is very active
within the fancy and are always willing to help others where possible. Our Committee
works extremely hard on behalf of our members and tries to greet everyone with the hand of
friendship.
There
can be no greater accolade than being elected President of the parent body the Budgerigar
Society and many of our members have been recognised in this way.
The MBA has been at the forefront of many
new ideas over the years. Our members have also achieved great success on the show
bench. Repeating our previous win in 2001, one of our most recent successes was once
again winning the prestigious Premier Area Society Trophy at the 2007 Budgerigar Society
Club Show, with a very strong team which included Committee Members Alex and David Woan
(Best Opposite Sex Any Age in Show). Our winning points total of 556 points was 242
points ahead of our nearest rivals, a fantastic achievement. |
